The eighth-ranked Kansas Jayhawks visit the Oklahoma State Cowboys on Saturday for a Big 12 showdown.

Kansas, under head coach Bill Self, is 19-3 this season, and the Jayhawks sit atop the Big 12 standings with an 8-1 league record. Kansas has won 10 of its last 11 games, and on Monday night, the Jayhawks avenged their only league loss by topping the Iowa State Cyclones 89-76. Wayne Selden, Jr. led Kansas with 20 points, while Perry Ellis added 17 points and six rebounds.

For the season, Ellis leads the team, averaging 13.0 points and six rebounds per game. Frank Mason III is the only other Jayhawk averaging in double figures, posting 12.7 points per outing.

Head coach Travis Ford and his Cowboys are 15-7 this year, including a 5-5 record in Big 12 play. However, Oklahoma State has lost five of its last nine games after starting the season 11-2. The Cowboys had an impressive win on Wednesday, going on the road to beat the Texas Longhorns 65-63 in overtime. Le’Bryan Nash led Oklahoma State with 17 points in that game.

Oklahoma State relies on its back court for most of its scoring. Phil Forte III leads the team, averaging 17.1 points per game. Nash scores 16.9 per outing and Anthony Hickey scores 8.9 points per contest.

This will be the second meeting this season between the two teams, with Kansas having won a January 13 contest in Lawrence by a final score of 67-57. Kansas grabbed the lead in the first half and never looked back, as Mason had 16 points and Kelly Oubre scored 14. Oklahoma State has not played as well since that game, and despite being at home, they appear to be in an uphill battle in this game.

Final score prediction: Kansas 71, Oklahoma State 62
