Oklahoma State vs. Baylor: Game Preview, Prediction

The Oklahoma State Cowboys are coming off a season-changing upset over the Kansas Jayhawks that firmly places them off of the bubble and into the 2015 NCAA Tournament for now. However, in a difficult conference like the Big 12, it’s going to be tough for the Cowboys to keep winning and remain off the bubble for long.

That’s why it’s so important for Oklahoma State to continue their current two-game winning streak as they travel to Ferrell Center to face the Baylor Bears on Monday, Feb. 9, at 7 p.m. ET on ESPNU.

Baylor has won three straight, including wins over the then ranked No. 19 Texas Longhorns and No. 15 ranked West Virginia Mountaineers. The Bears have looked equally good and bad this season due to inconsistencies, but have been in almost every game they’ve played. Remember, the Bears have already lost to Oklahoma State once this season away from home.

Like many teams on the fringe of the 2015 NCAA Tournament bubble, the Cowboys need to win this game to help solidify their place in the Big Dance. Unlike many Big 12 teams, Baylor will need to continue to win in-conference play in order to move into a high 2015 NCAA Tournament seed. Both teams need this game and are more than capable of winning, but I give this one to Baylor.

The Cowboys are not a good rebounding team, and the Bears, as one of the top rebounding teams in the country, will give them nightmares on the inside. Oklahoma State should make the tournament, but I don’t see them winning this one away from home.
