The ninth-ranked Louisville Cardinals look to stay in the ACC race on Wednesday, hosting the Pittsburgh Panthers at the KFC Yum! Center in Louisville.

Louisville is 19-4 this season, including a 7-3 mark in the ACC. The Cardinals suffered through a terrible offensive performance on Saturday in losing to the Virginia Cavaliers 52-47 in Charlottesville. Louisville scored just 13 points in the first half before getting things together in the second stanza. However, for the second straight game, only four players scored for Louisville.

Those four players have carried the scoring load for head coach Rick Pitino and the Cardinals all season. Sophomore guard Terry Rozier leads the team, averaging 18.3 points per game. Junior forward Montrezl Harrell averages 15.2 points and a team-best nine rebounds per game. Chris Jones scores 13.6 points per outing, while Wayne Blackshear posts 11 points per contest.

Pittsburgh enters Wednesday’s contest at 16-8 on the season and 5-5 in conference play. Jamie Dixon and his team have won three in a row after losing three in a row in January.

Sophomore forward Michael Young leads Pittsburgh in scoring (13.2 points per game) and rebounding (8.0 rebounds per game). Sophomore forward Jamel Artis averages 12.8 points per game, while junior guard James Robinson averages 10.2 points per outing.

Louisville’s defense gave Pittsburgh problems in the first game, and it will do so again in this one. Look for the Cardinals to ramp up their full-court pressure to disrupt what the Panthers are trying to do on offense.

While Pitino must find offense from other sources, he should have enough scoring to win this game.

Final score prediction: Louisville 73, Pittsburgh 57
