Matchup: Connecticut Huskies (14-9) vs. SMU Mustangs (20-5)

The Huskies shocked us all by winning the national championship last year. As for this season, they are fighting just to make the Big Dance. However, beating SMU next could do this team wonders.

The Mustangs are at the top of the AAC, and have a solid shot at making the tournament this year. However, who knows how many bids this conference will get. Regardless, the Mustangs have only lost two games since Nov. 25.

What to Watch For

If you are a fan of the Huskies, then you are clearly going to be hoping for a big game out of Ryan Boatright. He is currently leading the team in scoring at 18 points per game.

As for the Mustangs, Nic Moore is leading the team in the scoring department at 14.6 PPG.

Prediction

Neither team puts up a whole lot of points, but fans can still expect big outings out of Boatright and Moore. Although Connecticut has won three straight and just got done beating Tulsa, SMU is not an easy out, especially at home.

In the end, the Mustangs very well could come away with the conference title, and Connecticut could be on the outside looking in when it comes to the 2015 NCAA tournament.

If Boatright can do what he does best, which is put up the points, this will be a very interesting game. However, he will not be able to do it alone, and SMU is better than its No. 25 ranking may indicate.

Connecticut 68, SMU 73
