Like most teams on the NCAA tournament bubble, the St. John's Red Storm have had an up-and-down season. However, all is not lost when it comes to Steve Lavin's team making the dance. It just has to do basically all of the things in the following slides to actually punch its ticket to the dance -- well, maybe not all of them, but it would surely help.

Okay, the Red Storm are already on the wrong path for this one, as they just lost to Georgetown. With that in mind, this one is even more true: St. John's can't lose more than two games the rest of the way if it plans on dancing.

St. John's is currently tied for sixth in the Big East standings, and it has to get back into the top five. The tournament committee is not going to let the sixth best Big East team into the dance. Well, unless if it earns that auto bid in the Big East tourney.

Beating Villanova would do wonders for the Red Storm, especially since that will be a road game for St. John's. Not to mention, it would come in the last game of the regular season. Finishing strong is exactly what any bubble team needs to do to make the tournament.

St. John's can't afford to have an early exit in the Big East tournament. If it does, then it will be playing in the NIT. It is really that simple. Heck, two wins may not even get this team in, but it has to at least capture those two wins. End of story.

A little luck never hurts. If bubble teams start to go down left and right, and St. John's continues to win some games, it very well could get into the tournament based off of that.

Regardless, St. John's would be doing itself a huge favor by doing all five of these things. Of course, winning the Big East tournament would give it that automatic bid, which would be the best possible scenario, and would lead to no sweating on Selection Sunday.
