The Wisconsin Badgers look to extend their winning streak to 10 games when they host the Minnesota Golden Gophers on Saturday in Madison.

Wisconsin has had winning streaks of seven and eight games this season, but the current nine-game run is the best Bo Ryan and his team have assembled so far. Wisconsin is 24-2 this season and 12-1 in the Big Ten and appears to be ready to make another run at the Final Four in March.

National player of the year candidate Frank Kaminsky leads the Badgers in scoring and rebounding, averaging 17.5 points and 8.4 rebounds per game. Junior forward Sam Dekker averages 13.4 points per game, while sophomore forward Nigel Hayes scores 12.3 points per outing.

After starting the year at 11-2, Minnesota got off to a terrible start in Big Ten play, losing their first five conference games. Head coach Richard Pitino and his team have bounced back lately, but still find themselves at 16-11 overall and 5-9 in the Big Ten.

Senior guard Andre Hollins leads the Golden Gophers in scoring, averaging 15.0 points per game. Senior forward Maurice Walker averages 11.7 points per contest, and junior guard Carlos Morris scores 11 points per game.

This will be the first of two meetings over the course of 12 days between these two teams. The bad news for Pitino and his team is that Wisconsin is playing its best basketball of the year, and they are very tough to beat at home. Those two factors should be enough to allow Wisconsin to get the win on Saturday.

Final score prediction: Wisconsin 71, Minnesota 57
