It’s a race for second place in the SEC, as five teams are still in the running for a crucial spot on the opposite side of the Kentucky Wildcats in the conference tournament bracket. Two of these teams face off on Tuesday, Feb. 24, at 9 p.m. ET on ESPN, as the Texas A&M Aggies travel to Bud Walton Arena to face the Arkansas Razorbacks.

Just one game behind Arkansas for second place in the SEC, Texas A&M surprised many with their success this season. However, if you paid close attention to the number of returning players on this team from the previous season, their success is not surprising at all. The Aggies are a veteran team with experience and depth at nearly every position, and have a legitimate opportunity to go far in the 2015 NCAA tournament, especially behind the play of the most underrated point guard in the country, Alex Caruso.

As expected, Arkansas has been one of the better teams in college basketball this season. With several big non-conference wins, the Razorbacks stormed into SEC play only to lose back-to-back games in mid-January. Since then, Arkansas have won nine of their last 10, with the lone loss coming by one on the road against the Florida Gators. The Razorbacks will want to keep winning so they can secure a top three seed in the NCAA tournament.

These two teams match up extremely well. Texas A&M relies on their defense and efficiency to win games, whereas Arkansas relies on its offense and the elite talent of Bobby Portis to win games late. On a neutral court, both teams could win on any given night. However, with the Razorbacks playing at home, somewhere that has been difficult to play for what seems like forever, I give this one to Arkansas in a matchup of two dark horse teams for the Elite Eight.

Prediction: Arkansas 76, Texas A&M 72
