Matchup: Purdue Boilermakers (19-9) vs. Ohio State Buckeyes (20-8)

This is exactly the type of matchup a bubble team should want to be in this late in the season. Although both Purdue and Ohio State very well could be in the 2015 NCAA tournament, they are currently on the bubble. A loss for either team wont burst any bubbles, but it will definitely help to add another solid win on the resume.

Purdue has been great in Big 10 play this season. After all, the Boilermakers are tied for second place in the conference standings. The Buckeyes are a couple games back of Purdue in said standings.

What to Watch For

Purdue won the first contest between these two teams, but it won’t have the benefit of playing at home this time around. However, it will have A.J. Hammons on its side, who is averaging 11.3 points and 6.3 rebounds per game.

With that in mind, Ohio State has one of the best players in college hoops. That player is D’Angelo Russell, who should be an absolute handful for the Boilermakers.

Prediction

Purdue may have won the first matchup and is in second place in the conference standings, but it won’t have the same fortune on the road.

Win or lose, both teams may need a win or two in the Big 10 tournament just to be safe. At the same time, the winner of this contest will get a nice boost, and both teams will also need to close out the rest of the regular season on a good note.

Purdue 57, Ohio State 65
