The Big East may be the most difficult league in college basketball from top to bottom, but the Villanova Wildcats have already secured the regular season title with two games to go. The rest of the conference will be fighting for better Big East Tournament seeding to finish the season with a huge boost in 2015 NCAA Tournament seeding in the offing if someone can upset Villanova.

Two of the Big East teams still jostling for conference positioning are the Butler Bulldogs and Georgetown Hoyas. These two teams face off at Butler’s Hinkle Fieldhouse on Tuesday, Mar. 3, at 7 p.m. ET on Fox Sports 1.

Georgetown have edged their way into being a pretty solid bet for the 2015 NCAA Tournament behind the scoring of D’Vauntes Smith-Rivera and several well-timed upsets on the season. They don’t boast extremely flashy stats in any one category, but they do everything well.

Butler seem to have developed a reputation for being a 3-point shooting team, but in reality they win games because of their fantastic defense. This team is allowing just over 60 points per game, despite not boasting top 100 stats when it comes to defensive rebounding, steals or blocks per game. Their ability to score the ball coupled with their ability to defend could cause major trouble to tournament opponents.

Both of these squads are headed to the Big Dance and have shown they are capable of beating good teams week-in and week-out. When the tournament finally begins, these two teams are built for deep runs into the latter stages of the tournament.

However, Georgetown barely beat Butler at home once this season. The Bulldogs have been outstanding at home, whereas the Hoyas have struggled in nearly every outing on the road. Expect Butler to win this one pretty easily.

Prediction: Butler 67, Georgetown 59
