Matchup: Kansas Jayhawks (24-6) vs. Oklahoma Sooners (20-9)

As usual, Kansas has won the Big 12 regular season title. For a second there, it looked like another team would come away with the conference title. That, of course, did not happen, but the Sooners could win this game regardless.

The Jayhawks won the first meeting between these two teams at home.

Regardless of the outcome of this game and how these teams do in the Big 12 tournament, they will definitely be in this year’s NCAA tournament. It is all about seeding for the two at this point.

What to Watch For

Like every year, this is a stacked Kansas team. Perry Ellis is leading the team in scoring (14.2 PPG) and rebounding (7.0 RPG), but is doubtful for Saturday’s showdown.

Buddy Hield is definitely the No. 1 player to watch out for in this contest. He is averaging 17.3 points per game and has reached the 20-point mark in consecutive games.

Prediction

We like the Sooners in this one. Sure, they didn’t win the Big 12 regular season title, but they still had a solid season. This is a team that can make a serious run in the dance, and it could all start in this contest.

With that in mind, the Big 12 tournament is going to be brutal, as the conference is arguably the deepest in the country.

In terms of this game, we are in for quite the treat. This one should have an NCAA tournament-like atmosphere — to say the least. After all, two top 15 teams will be taking the court.
