Matchup: Oklahoma State Cowboys (18-11) vs. West Virginia Mountaineers (22-8)

The Cowboys have seen better days. Oklahoma State looked like a lock not too long ago, but a recent four-game losing streak is starting to change that. Oklahoma State would more than likely be in the 2015 NCAA tournament if the season ended today, but it doesn’t.

West Virginia is also struggling, but at least its last two losses have come against Big 12 locks (Kansas Jayhawks and Baylor Bears).

These two actually met not too long ago — on Feb. 21, to be exact. In that matchup, the Mountaineers came out on top.

What to Watch For

There will be many great talents playing in this game. This is the Big 12, after all. For the Cowboys, you have Le’Bryan Nash and Phil Forte III (both averaging over 15 points per game). For the Mountaineers, Juwan Staten is the main attraction, but has missed the last two games. The senior guard is putting up 14.5 points and 4.6 assists per game.

Prediction

Both teams could use the win, but so much more is at stake for the Cowboys. Therefore, fans can expect Oklahoma State to go all out. However, its top two scorers have to show up if it is going to capture the W.

West Virginia is coming off an overtime loss to Kansas, the Big 12 tournament is oh-so-very close and the NCAA tournament follows that, so this team should be pretty pumped up entering this showdown.

However, Oklahoma State did finally enter the win column again in its last contest, and could easily pull off the road win this weekend.

Oklahoma State 75, West Virginia 68
