The Oklahoma Sooners are one of the hottest teams in the country heading into the Big 12 tournament, and they have everything they need to win the conference tournament.

The team seems to be kicking into the right gear at the right time of year. Coach Lon Kruger has done a terrific job this season with the Sooners by leading the team to a 21-9 record for the season. The team also went 12-6 in conference play, which is rather impressive seeing that the Big 12 is the deepest conference in the country.
Big 12 Player of the Year Buddy Hield has been absolutely sensational all season long. Lately, he has proven that he can come through in the clutch. Right now the Sooners, the Kansas Jayhawks and the Iowa State Cyclones are the favorites to win the conference tournament. Each team has beaten each other once, and each team has lost to each other once.
The Sooners’ post presence is the true the X-factor for the team. Ryan Spangler and TaShawn Thomas can compete with the Jayhawks’ big men, and they can dominate against the Cyclones. As long as they come to play, the Sooners can win the conference tourney.
The Sooners are going to be an extremely dangerous team in the NCAA tournament. Every great tournament team has had one player who can take over, and Hield can definitely be that guy. When you watch him play, everyone can see that he has the ability to get hot from anywhere on the floor at any given moment. The Sooners are built to compete with some of the best teams in the nation, which is why this team could make a deep NCAA tournament run.
The first step for the Sooners is to win the Big 12 tourney, which is something that is definitely possible.
