The Texas Longhorns have been disappointing all season long, and their NCAA Tournament chances are still up in the air.

Obviously the team had a tough task against the Iowa State Cyclones last night, but the Longhorns have shown all season long that they have the talent to compete with some of the best teams in college basketball, but the team cannot seem to close out games. The Longhorns were in complete control against the Cyclones last night, and somehow managed to lose at the buzzer, which is something that is unacceptable for this team.

The team has finished the season by going 20-13, and the Longhorns went 8-10 in Big 12 play, which is very hard to believe. The Longhorns will still probably make the NCAA tournament, but they are not going to be a dangerous team in the tournament. The Longhorns have the talent to beat some good teams, but they will not make any noise. The team will be heading home early from the big dance.

The problem with the Longhorns starts with their inconsistency on the interior. Myles Turner and Cameron Ridley cannot seem to play together down in the paint, which has been a huge problem for the Longhorns. The Longhorns were projected as national title contenders prior to the start of the season, due to all of their returning players and talented freshmen, but this team is far from a national title contender.

The Longhorns will be lucky if they can make it into the NCAA Tournament. Regardless, this season has been a nightmare for Texas and coach Rick Barnes.
