The North Carolina State Wolfpack earned their 20th win on the season by beating fellow bubble team the Pittsburgh Panthers in the ACC Tournament in what might have been their biggest win of the season. Pittsburgh didn’t make the 2015 NCAA Tournament; NC State did as a No. 8 seed.

The Wolfpack will face the No. 9 seeded LSU Tigers out of the SEC, who are one of the most athletic teams in college basketball.

What to Watch For

LSU’s inside duo of Jordan Mickey and Jarrell Martin is one of the most dangerous in the country, as both Mickey and Martin are terrific players on both ends of the floor. Mickey has been one of college basketball’s elite shot blockers this season, and he should have his way with NC State on the inside.

However, the Wolfpack boast one of the most exciting guard combos in college basketball. Trevor Lacey, once a star with the Alabama Crimson Tide, and Ralston Turner are averaging a combined 29 points per game and could go off for 20-plus at any time.

Prediction:

In all honesty, I’m disappointed that these two teams will face off in the second-round of the tournament. Both teams are well equipped to make a deep tournament run, even upsetting the No. 1 seeded Villanova Wildcats in the next round.

However, give this game to LSU. Their physicality inside will tear NC State apart. This will be a great, high-scoring game, but there isn’t a player on this roster capable of stopping Mickey and Martin inside.

LSU 70, NC State 63
