RPI: 36

How They Qualified: At-Large

The Georgia Bulldogs surprised everyone last season by finishing third in the SEC, but will have surprised no one with their success this season. The emergence of Marcus Thorton as a scorer has just made this this team even better, leading to a third place finish in the SEC and an easy ride into the 2015 NCAA Tournament.

What You Need To Know:

Leading Scorer: Marcus Thornton

Leading Rebounder: Marcus Thornton

Leading Passer: Charles Mann

Bad Losses: Minnesota, Georgia Tech, South Carolina (twice), Auburn

Good Wins: Ole Miss (twice), Texas A&M, Kansas State

The first thing that jumps out at you when you see this team’s record is the high number of bad losses. However, each of these losses can be attributed to a seemingly consistent inability by the Bulldogs to deal with talented big men and the strange way that South Carolina seems to have them all figured out.

Georgia have not been the most flashy team headed to the 2015 NCAA Tournament, but every one of their players works extremely hard all game long. They will outwork their opponent and force them to play the Bulldogs’ style of basketball. The 2015 NCAA Tournament is deep, but the Bulldogs are more than capable of pulling off major upsets.

Unlike last season, Georgia receives a much deserved trip to the Big Dance.
