No player on the floor will be better than the Eastern Washington Eagles’ Tyler Harvey in this interesting No. 4 vs. No. 13 game. Although the Georgetown Hoyas somehow convinced the committee in believing the Hoyas were one of the top 16 teams in the country, Georgetown should still be strong enough to overcome Harvey and the directional state-school Eagles, right?

The Hoyas have been bounced in the first round in three of their last four NCAA tournament appearances. Although past performance is not an indicator of future results, this unpleasant history will definitely have an influence on Georgetown.

For the Eagles to survive against Georgetown, Eastern Washington will have to get Harvey going early -- and will they ever. If the Eagles put up 30 points in the first half against Georgetown, then Harvey will be responsible for 21 of them. Harvey has nothing to lose but NBA draft stock, so expect, miss or make, for Harvey to throw everything at the rim.

Although Georgetown ranks 130th in Division I from the charity stripe (70.2 percent), this stat is misleading. D’Vauntes Smith-Rivera and Isaac Copeland both shoot better than 80 percent from the line, and if Smith-Rivera and Copeland end up taking the lion's share of Hoyas’ free throws, Georgetown could loosen the March Madness vice grip by swishing nylon.

Although Harvey averages 22.9 points per game, the nation’s leading scorer isn’t the only prolific scorer for the Eagles. Venky Jois contributes 16.6 per game and Ognjen Miljkovic adds another 10 per showing.

Make it four upsets in Georgetown’s last five, as the Hoyas yet again leave an NCAA tournament before the first calendar weekend officially starts. Harvey will be making shots from wherever there’s lacquered hardwood, and Georgetown won’t be able to keep pace.
