Three former Coach K players and assistant coaches will be guiding teams of their own in this year’s NCAA tournament. The branches on this tree are Bobby Hurley with the Buffalo Bulls, Mike Brey with the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, and Tommy Amaker with the Harvard Crimson.

Even if Duke has been bounced early before, the Blue Devils still play consistently enough to get upset in March Madness in the first place. There’s a lot of talk about Duke’s early exits, but what about the deep runs? Coach K has 82 NCAA tournament wins, and this is the most among any college basketball coach, ever. Juggling Duke with his responsibilities to the USA Olympic team, it’s amazing Coach K has the energy to maintain his iconic combover.
