D’Angelo Russell is one special player for the Ohio State Buckeyes, and the team would be nowhere without him.
Russell was by far the best player on the floor today against the VCU Rams in the Round of 64. Russell finished the game with 28 points, which led all scorers, and the Buckeyes relied on him heavily in today’s game. VCU played terrific defense on Russell by mixing up defensive schemes, but Russell still found ways to get his points.
Ohio State relies on Russell during every game, but there is something special about Russell. He is not afraid of any team or any moment, which is great news for viewers around world. Russell scores from anywhere on the floor, and he is a fantastic floor general. As long as Russell is playing at a high level, anything can happen for Ohio State.
The resilient guard will need some help, especially in their next matchup against the Arizona Wildcats because the Buckeyes will be extremely outmatched. Russell is going to give it his all in every game for the Buckeyes because these will probably be his last collegiate games for Ohio State; he will more than likely declare for the NBA Draft after this season.
He is going to be a great NBA player, but lets enjoy him in the NCAA tournament for now because this could be the last time he is seen on a national stage like this for a while.
