San Diego State Is Dangerous

The San Diego State Aztecs have always been a dangerous team in March, and this year is no different.

The Aztecs are known for their dominant defense, but as of late, their offense has really been clicking. The Aztecs usually struggle on the offensive end, but players like Malik Pope, Dwayne Polee II, and J.J. O’Brien have really stepped it up.

The Aztecs looked like a whole different team in their win tonight against the St. John’s Red Storm because the Aztecs scored the basketball with ease, especially from the three-point line. The Aztecs shot an impressive 56.7 percent from the field as a team, which is something that the Aztecs do not normally do. If the Aztecs play like they did tonight on the offensive end, then their matchup with the Duke Blue Devils on Sunday will be fantastic.

San Diego can matchup with Duke on the defensive end, and the team will find a way to limit Jahlil Okafor by mixing up their defensive schemes, which is something that coach Steve Fisher likes to do. Pope, Polee, and Matt Shrigley are going to be huge for the Aztecs in their next game because they are the best three-point shooters for the Aztecs. Each one of those three-point shooters played great for the Aztecs today, and they will have the opportunity to take many threes against Duke.

San Diego State vs. Duke will be one of the best Round of 32 games because the Aztecs play great defense and smart offense. Do not be surprised if the Aztecs pull off the upset; they defeated the Utah Utes early in the season and the Aztecs only lost by two points to the Arizona Wildcats as well.

The Aztecs are not afraid of the big moment, which makes them dangerous.
