The Missouri Tigers have had a terrible offseason. And the bad news for Mizzou is that the terrible offseason follows a miserable regular season in 2015.

Missouri went 9-23 last season, and was just 3-15 in the SEC. First-year coach Kim Anderson saw his team struggle all season, but especially during conference play. Mizzou lost 13 games in a row at one point last season, and the Tigers struggled to score all season long. Missouri finished 321st in the country in scoring offense last season.

So losing any offense would be huge for this team. The bad news is that Missouri has lost quite a bit of its offense after the announcement that Johnathan Williams III would be transferring to Gonzaga. Williams averaged a team-high 11.9 points and 7.1 rebounds per game last season.

As if that wasn’t enough bad news, Missouri found out on Tuesday that Montaque Gill-Caesar would be transferring as well. Gill-Caesar averaged 9.1 points and three rebounds per game as a freshman last season, despite missing some time while battling a back injury. It is not yet known where Gill-Caesar will take his talents.

For Anderson and the Missouri program, this is yet another blow as they try to rebuild the program. Gill-Caesar was a Top 50 recruit coming out of high school, and could have been a cornerstone in the rebuilding process. Now, he is gone and Anderson and the Missouri staff must figure out a way to become competitive sooner rather than later.

Missouri hopes that this is the last of the bad news during this offseason.
