Wake Forest was a cellar team in the ACC last year. For a team that used to be a competitor every year, Danny Manning has his hands full with this young group. The only way for Wake Forest to come out of the bottom is for them to stress these five areas.

He’s a career 27 percent three-point shooter. Without the three, Miller-McIntyre would have shot close to 50 percent from the field. His physicality helps him get to the line at a terrific rate, so he needs to operate inside of the arc. Unless he miraculously turns into a sharpshooter, Miller-McIntyre should cut down on the outside shots.

4. Increase the Role of Konstantinos Mitoglou

Mitoglou was an efficient stretch-four last year, but he only played 22 minutes a game. He needs more minutes and more touches so he can improve on his 9.7 point average. The sophomore is really skilled for a 6-foot-10 post player. Danny Manning should give him more opportunities to show off his skill set.

3. Keep Devin Thomas Engaged

Thomas is one of the best rebounders in the ACC. His 8.8 rebound average was fifth in the conference. However, Thomas made way too many careless mistakes with the ball last year, leading to three turnovers a game. Thomas is great at making strong moves and getting to the line. He’s not so great when it take him more than three dribbles to make his move. Either he needs to make quicker moves or maintain his focus through longer attacks.

Wake Forest has already offered Harry Giles, Dennis Smith Jr. and Edrice Adebayo. They are all elite recruits from in the state. Giles is more than likely to follow Jayson Tatum to Duke. That leaves Smith and Adebayo as the most likely options. Either one would be a huge step in Danny Manning’s rebuilding process. It’s a good sign that the Demon Deacons made Smith’s final list of schools.

Moore is an agile 7-footer coming from the powerful Montverde Academy. He is active around the lane, and his length will be beneficial for Danny Manning’s team. His presence in the paint will only grow as he learns how to play more minutes in a tough conference. The future is bright for the Moore if he continues to develop his game as a quick rim protector.
