The No. 14 ranked Indiana Hoosiers head off to the 2015 Maui Invitational to face their toughest opponents yet, the Wake Forest Demon Deacons, with a chance to continue to prove why they are one of the best teams in the nation.

So far this season, the Hoosiers have dominated their three opening opponents by a combined score of 276-190 with a total of seven different players averaging at least seven points per game. This ridiculous stat will surely even itself out as Indiana heads into the more difficult portion of their non-conference schedule and Big 10 play, but for now Indiana looks like a potential top-10 team.

Wake Forest, on the other hand, have just come off their first loss of the season to the talented Richmond Spiders, but look like a highly underrated team out of the ACC. This team dominates on the glass, which could give them an advantage over several top opponents who are expected to easily beat them, like Indiana.

That being said, I don’t believe that the Demon Deacons are the team to halt the Hoosiers at this point in the season. Wake Forest, at least on paper, is miles better than Indiana when it comes to rebounding thanks to elite big-men like Devin Thomas and Konstantinos Mitoglou, but Indiana’s offensive efficiency is much better.

Wake Forest is a team to watch moving forward with legitimate 2016 NCAA Tournament potential, but their rebounding prowess does not override their defensive flaws and they should not be able to hold Indiana’s elite offense.

Prediction: Indiana 85, Wake Forest 77
