The Connecticut Huskies are many people’s dark horse favorite to win it all in 2015-16 and for good reason. This team boasts talent, depth and experience all over the court and have shown that to start the season, winning their opening three games of the season by a combined score of 268-180 in blowouts. Their season gets much tougher, however, as they travel to the Bahamas to play in the 2015 Battle 4 Atlantis and face off with another popular dark horse team, the Michigan Wolverines.

Michigan disappointingly lost their last game to the Xavier Musketeers and will drop out of the top 25, but a win over UConn in the Battle 4 Atlantis could be just the momentum-changing win this team desperately needs. After this tournament, the Wolverines will face the North Carolina State Wolfpack and the SMU Mustangs before the start of conference play. Two wins between NC State, UConn and SMU could mean that Michigan makes the NCAA tournament simply by finishing in the top six or seven of the final Big 10 standings.

These are two extremely talented teams, but I give the edge to Connecticut in this one. Kevin Ollie’s squad is built for tournament settings. Sterling Gibbs, as everyone expected, has been electrifying for this UConn offense, and it will take an amazing performance from the Wolverine defense to slow down this team. Expect a good game between two great teams with legitimate Final Four potential, but the Huskies will come out on top.

Prediction: Connecticut 76, Michigan 70
