Arena: Carver-Hawkeye Arena, Iowa City, Iowa

In one of the more underrated matchups of the 2015 Big Ten/ACC Challenge, the Florida State Seminoles will travel to Iowa City, Iowa, to face off with the Iowa Hawkeyes. Both of these teams are expected to at least be NCAA tournament bubble teams heading into March, so we should get a good matchup between two highly talented teams.

Florida State entered the season with a fairly easy schedule, but they have struggled against some of their weaker opponents, including a loss to the Hofstra Pride in the 2015 Paradise Jam. That being said, the Seminoles have two fantastic freshmen averaging over 20 points per game, Dwayne Bacon and Malik Beasley. The problem is that their veteran players are not contributing as much as they probably should, which is something that FSU will have an opportunity to fix against this talented Hawkeyes squad.

Iowa has lost two of their last three games to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and the Dayton Flyers. Their two big wins have come against an up-and-down Marquette Golden Eagles squad and the injured Wichita State Shockers. If the Hawkeyes want to make a statement and prove to the country that they are a legitimate threat in the Big 10, a blowout win over Florida State would be the perfect message.

These two teams are extremely streaky, meaning that we could see a low scoring, boring game, or a high scoring, exciting game. I expect the latter, as both Iowa and Florida State understand the NCAA tournament implications a non-conference win over a potential bubble team in December would have in March.

I like both of these teams to make the 2016 NCAA tournament, but this one goes to Iowa at home.

Prediction: Iowa 83, Florida State 76
