After entering the season in the top 25, things might not be able to get much worse for the Wisconsin Badgers. Currently at 6-4 with losses to the Western Illinois Leathernecks and Milwaukee Panthers, the Badgers just cannot seem to get things flowing on offense, which has led to multiple disappointing losses.

That could all change, however, if the Badgers can knock off the streaking Marquette Golden Eagles on Saturday afternoon.

The Golden Eagles are currently in the midst of a six game winning streak; their last loss came against the Iowa Hawkeyes back in mid-November. Luke Fischer and Henry Ellenson have been absolutely dominant for Marquette, averaging a combined 31.3 points and 16.6 rebounds per game. It’s between the Baylor Bears and Golden Eagles, but Fischer and Ellenson are arguably the best frontcourt duo in college basketball. If these players continue to play at their current level, Marquette should easily make it to the NCAA tournament.

That being said, Wisconsin is no pushover. Nigel Hayes and Bronson Koenig are two absolutely fantastic players who both average over 15 points, 3.2 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game. These two players do a little bit of everything for the Badgers, and if a few other players can start stepping up at the offensive end, Wisconsin is definitely a team to keep an eye on moving forward – especially in conference play.

Expect this to be a close game in which the team that gets to 60 first wins. I like Marquette in the upset, because the Badgers have struggled this season defending guards. The Golden Eagles have an extremely talented sophomore guard in Duane Wilson who has yet to have a breakout game this season. Wilson scores 20 or more and Marquette gets a big road win.

Prediction: Marquette 70, Wisconsin 65
