TV Schedule: Sunday, Dec. 13, 11:00 a.m. ET, FS1

Stadium: Madison Square Garden

These two squads won’t be bringing rankings to the table when they take the court on Sunday, but some history and memories will certainly come into play — which should have the fans rocking in Madison Square Garden.

The Syracuse Orange had a decent amount of question marks entering the year (and a ton of off-the-court issues), but they have answered plenty so far. The Orange stormed onto the scene by knocking off the Connecticut Huskies and Texas A&M Aggies in back-to-back games. However, they then followed that up with two losses in a row. Regardless, Syracuse is already building a great NCAA tournament resume.

You could say the St. John’s Red Storm entered 2015-16 with some doubts as well, as they were entering a new era with a new head coach. Unfortunately for the Red Storm, they already have three losses. Said losses came against the Vanderbilt Commodores, Indiana Hoosiers and Fordham Rams.

Going forward, St. John’s has to find a way to put up more points on the board (only averaging 66.4 points per game). If not, then this is going to be a very long season for the Red Storm. That said, it’s not like the Orange are explosive on the offensive end, as they are only averaging 71.8 points per contest.

The Orange do have Michael Gbinije (19.7 PPG) and Trevor Cooney (14.3 PPG), though. Meanwhile, Federico Mussini is leading the scoring charge for the Red Storm with 14 points per game

Everything aside, this year’s version of this rivalry is about to be reunited.

PREDICTION: Orange 56, Red Storm 53
