Georgia Southern vs. Duke College Basketball Game Preview, Prediction, TV Schedule

Since losing to the Kentucky Wildcats in their third game of the season, the Duke Blue Devils have reeled off six straight wins en route to the No. 7 overall ranking. While other elite teams continue to rack up wins against weak opponents, the Blue Devils are dominating talented teams like the Indiana Hoosiers, VCU Rams and Yale Bulldogs, while also showing that they are capable of winning close games like the 86-84 victory over the Georgetown Hoyas.

Next up for Mike Krzyzewski and Co. is a home matchup with the Georgia Southern Eagles out of the Sun Belt Conference in which the Blue Devils are favored by over 30 points.

Several Sun Belt teams have been known for upsets this season. UT-Arlington won over the Memphis Tigers and Ohio State Buckeyes, whereas Arkansas-Little Rock remains undefeated. Georgia Southern, however, is nowhere near the level of those two teams, as shown by their dismal 3-4 record.

Duke should destroy this much weaker opponent, making it a must-watch game if you are a Duke fan or want to see some of the fantastic Blue Devils players at their best. Expect Grayson Allen to go for his usual 25-plus points and Amile Jefferson to have a big game as well.

After their game with Georgia Southern, the Blue Devils have a great home matchup with the Utah Utes on Dec. 19, which should be the last time this team is even challenged until they face the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in mid-January. Duke might be disappointed to have their hopes at an undefeated season already dashed, but they should be back in the top five – where they belong – very soon.
