TV Schedule: Saturday, Dec. 19, 12:00 p.m. ET, Fox

Arena: Prudential Center, Newark, NJ

Line: Wichita State (-1.5)

The Wichita State Shockers lost three straight games in November due to the loss of Fred VanVleet and his backup Landry Shamet to injury, but have currently won three straight and are looking to build off the return of their star player. Next up for the Shockers, however, is a difficult matchup with one of the more underrated teams out of the Big East, the Seton Hall Pirates.

The Pirates have looked good so far this season, even in the absence of last year’s leading scorer Sterling Gibbs, who transferred to the Connecticut Huskies. Isaiah Whitehead leads this team with 14.9 points per game, but it is Angel Delgado who deserves more recognition, as his ability on the glass is one of the things that allows Seton Hall to keep racking up wins.

A young team that is destined to be a legitimate national title threat sometime in the next few seasons, a big win over Wichita State could be just what the Pirates need to get over the hump and continue to push for a 2016 NCAA tournament berth.

The fact that this line is just -1.5 to Wichita State is a little bit odd, as the Shockers are undefeated since the return of VanVleet and Seton Hall have yet to win a game over quality opposition. The Pirates could definitely pull off the upset at home, but Wichita State has bounced back from their recent struggles in a big way and will not lose anytime soon. Look for Seton Hall to keep it close, but the much more experienced Shockers to pull away at the end.

Prediction: Wichita State 68, Seton Hall 63
