Arena: Reed Arena, College Station, TX

Line: Texas A&M (-2.5)

The No. 16 Baylor Bears and the No. 24 Texas A&M Aggies are the two best teams in Texas for the first time since the Aggies left the Big 12 for the SEC. Saturday night, these two potential Elite Eight teams face off in what could be one of the best games of the entire day.

The Bears come into this game with an 8-1 record, winning seven straight games after a disappointing road loss to the Oregon Ducks. At least on paper, the Bears have one of the best all-around teams in the nation, boasting a top-30 ranking in points per game (30), rebounds per game (12), assists per game (1) and points allowed per game (22). Unfortunately, Baylor’s lone marquee win came against the then No. 16 Vanderbilt Commodores, who since have lost another.

Texas A&M, on the other hand, have looked great to start the season, but will be wary of Baylor, as they have struggled against opposing forwards all season. Even in the Aggies’ upset over the Gonzaga Bulldogs, Kyle Wiltjer had a huge game. Texas A&M are a legitimate threat to the Kentucky Wildcats in the SEC and are all but guaranteed a spot in the 2016 NCAA tournament, but they have shown distinct weaknesses a team like Baylor can exploit.

Like always, expect the Aggies’ Danuel House to have a high-scoring game against a Baylor team that lacks elite guard play. Unfortunately, this won’t be enough, as Taurean Prince goes off for yet another huge game against an SEC opponent and the Bears get the win on the road.

Prediction: Baylor 66, Texas A&M 64
