The Ohio State Buckeyes have been one of the most disappointing teams in college basketball to start the season, but head to the 2015 CBS Classic in Brooklyn with a chance to upset the Kentucky Wildcats and save their season.

The Wildcats have bounced back from their upset at the hands of the UCLA Bruins with two big wins over two solid opponents, the Arizona State Sun Devils and the Eastern Kentucky Colonels. Both of these teams will likely make it to at least the NIT, proving that Kentucky continues to be one of the most dominant teams in college basketball despite their early season loss.

The Buckeyes, on the other hand, have a dismal 5-5 record and are in desperate need of a win over an elite opponent like the Wildcats. To be frank, Ohio State’s offense is terrible, averaging just 71.9 points per game. Despite their offensive struggles, the Buckeyes have won three of their last four games. Unfortunately, all three wins were to teams that will only make the 2016 NCAA tournament by winning their respective conference tournaments.

Although I expect Ohio State to limit Kentucky offensively, the Buckeyes’ struggling offense should find it difficult to score against the Wildcats’ defense. Do not be surprised if this game enters halftime without either team scoring 35 points.

That being said, Kentucky should easily destroy this much weaker Ohio State squad, even if players like Marc Loving and Keita Bates-Diop play the game of their lives. John Calipari and Co. are miles better than the Buckeyes, and Kentucky fans should be excited to see the Wildcats get a blowout win over a big-name opponent.

Prediction: Kentucky 69, Ohio State 50
