Oklahoma vs. Baylor College Basketball Preview, TV Schedule, Prediction

TV Schedule: Saturday, Jan. 23, 12:00 p.m. ET, ESPN2

Stadium: Ferrell Center

The Big 12 features some of the best teams in college basketball. Look no further than the rankings of these two teams to figure that one out: The Oklahoma Sooners are currently ranked No. 1 and the Baylor Bears are ranked as high as No. 13. Here’s the best part: These two squads will take the court for some Saturday action this, well, Saturday.

Clearly, no one wants to be ranked No. 1 in college hoops this year. The top-ranked team in the country, no matter who it is, continues to fall. Oklahoma might be ranked No. 1 right now, but that will likely not be the case next week since the Sooners recently dropped a game against the Iowa State Cyclones.

Heck, Oklahoma could be on a two-game losing streak by the time the new rankings come out. Baylor is no cakewalk. The Bears are 15-3 on the season and 5-1 in Big 12 play. They are also riding a five-game winning streak. They also — just in case you needed another reason to believe in them — have not lost a contest at home.

The Sooners are 15-2 overall and 4-2 in conference play. They also have arguably the best player in the country on their side in Buddy Hield. Trying to contain him is basically a fool’s errand, so good luck to Baylor on that one.

Here’s the deal: Although anything can happen in this sport, especially this season, Oklahoma is still the No. 1 team in the land until next week, and it is going to prove its worth once again by taking this clash on the road.

PREDICTION: Sooners 79, Bears 73
