Texas Tech vs. Oklahoma College Basketball Game Preview, Prediction, TV Schedule

By Taylor Sturm

TV Schedule: Tuesday, Jan. 26, 7:00 p.m. ET, ESPN2

Arena: Lloyd Noble Center, Norman, Okla.

Line: Oklahoma (-14)

The Oklahoma Sooners are currently the No. 1 team in the nation and share the top spot in the Big 12 standings with the Baylor Bears and West Virginia Mountaineers. Oklahoma clearly looks like a national title favorite, and they will need to continue to crush opponents if they want to maintain that spot and hold off several other top in-conference teams.

The Sooners rebounded well from their disappointing road loss to the Iowa State Cyclones with a great road win over Baylor, and they now head back home for the much easier task of taking on the Texas Tech Red Raiders on Tuesday night.

That being said, Texas Tech is no pushover of a team. The Red Raiders might be sitting at 2-5 in conference play and 12-6 overall, but they have only lost to ranked teams and the Kansas State Wildcats. In fact, they only had one total loss in non-conference play; the other five came against Big 12 opponents. If Texas Tech was in a weaker conference, they might be in the bubble discussion.

Despite the Red Raiders being highly underrated, they should not stand a chance against the Sooners. The line is currently Oklahoma minus-14, but I believe Texas Tech continues to do what it has done all season and keeps the score a little bit closer than that. The Sooners are the No. 1 team in the nation and will continue to look like it at home against the Red Raiders.

Prediction: Oklahoma 82, Texas Tech 70
