Washington vs. USC College Basketball Game Preview, Prediction, TV Schedule

By Taylor Sturm

TV Schedule: Saturday, Jan. 30, 3:00 p.m. ET, Pac-12 Network

Arena: Galen Center, Los Angeles, Calif.

Line: USC (-7.5)

The 14-6 (6-2) Washington Huskies currently are tied with the Oregon Ducks for the lead in the Pac-12 standings, but so far they have avoided games with the better teams in the conference and have lost to the ones that they have faced. Washington has what it takes in veteran guard Andrew Andrews to continue to hold onto the conference lead, but they must win some big games down the stretch.

Next up for the Huskies is a trip to Los Angeles, where they will face off with the 16-5 (5-3) USC Trojans.

Andy Enfield has seemingly transformed USC from a recent Pac-12 bottom-feeder to one of the best teams in the conference. The Trojans boast great wins over the Texas Longhorns and two over the UCLA Bruins – wins that should be able to be enough to get this team into the 2016 NCAA tournament barring a massive collapse. USC has quickly become one of the most fun to watch offenses in the country, which should make Saturday afternoon’s game a must-watch.

Washington and USC are both two of the top 15 teams in college basketball in terms of points scored per game. Both are also No. 221 or worse in terms of points allowed per game, meaning that this one will be fast-paced, high-scoring and potentially one of the most exciting games of the day.

That being said, the Trojans’ defense is slightly better statistically, and I think that’s what gives USC the advantage over the Huskies on Saturday afternoon.

Prediction: USC 92, Washington 89
