By Trevor Lowry

The Indiana Hoosiers can increase their seed for the 2016 NCAA tournament overnight with a win against the Iowa Hawkeyes on Thursday. Of course, that is no easy feat, as Iowa is arguably the best team in the Big Ten and a top five team in college hoops.

That said, if the Hoosiers want to win this contest, they have to find a way to contain the Player of the Year candidate.

Thomas Bryant is averaging 12.1 PPG and 5.6 RPG. If Bryant plans on pushing out Diamond Stone and Caleb Swanigan for Big Ten Freshman Of The Year, he needs to start dropping some monster games, especially against foes like Iowa.

Whether it is dropping 20 points or achieving a double-double, look for Bryant to come up big in this big-stage showdown.

Why this could actually happen: Iowa is putting up 80.7 PPG and Indiana is averaging 84.1 PPG. However, both teams are allowing under 70 points per contest. Call it a Big Ten hunch, if you will.

I'm thinking 10 on the dot, but we will go with at least 10 points. Just remember, the Hoosiers will be at home, they have one of the best players in the nation in Yogi Ferrell and they have been playing great ball despite the fact that they don't have a top 10 ranking to show for it (you know, since they are 19-5 overall and 9-2 in the Big Ten).
