Purdue vs. Michigan College Basketball Preview, TV Schedule, Prediction

Stadium: Crisler Center

The Purdue Boilermakers are coming off of arguably their biggest win of the season. That tends to be the case when a team knocks off the No. 8-ranked squad in college hoops (Michigan State in this case). However, there is no sleeping in the Big Ten, so the Boilermakers get the Michigan Wolverines on the road next.

Michigan hasn’t been playing its best ball as of late, but it did capture a victory in its last contest.

With the Big Ten season winding down, Purdue and Michigan can’t afford to lose another game. You know, if they plan on winning that Big Ten title. The Boilermakers have just four regular season games left after the battle with Michigan, and the Wolverines will have five contests left.

Hopefully for Michigan, Caris LeVert returns to the court soon. LeVert leads the team in scoring (17.6 PPG) and is lethal from behind the arc (44.6 percent from deep), but he has played just 14 games on the season thanks to an injury.

Nonetheless, the Boilermakers have players like A.J. Hammons on their squad, they could do some serious noise-making in the Big Dance and they already beat Michigan once this season (87-70).

It’s time to see if Purdue really does belong with the nation’s elite, and it’s also time to see how much noise the Wolverines can make with their best player back — well, assuming he hits the court soon. After knocking off Michigan State, though, I am predicting the Boilermakers to ride the momentum train for quite some time.

PREDICTION: Boilermakers 76, Wolverines 73
