Michigan vs. Ohio State College Basketball Preview, TV Schedule, Prediction

By Trevor Lowry

TV Schedule: Tuesday, Feb. 16, 7:00 p.m. ET, ESPN

Stadium: Value City Arena

The Ohio State Buckeyes might be 8-5 in the Big Ten, but they are just 16-10 overall … and they would likely be on the outside looking way in if the 2016 NCAA tournament started tomorrow. It, of course, doesn’t, which means the Buckeyes can still make their case for the Big Dance. Next up, they get the Michigan Wolverines.

Michigan is 19-7 overall, 9-4 in the Big Ten and would be dancing if the tournament started today.

Heck, the Wolverines still have a slim chance to win the Big Ten. The Iowa Hawkeyes currently stand at the top of the conference standings with a Big Ten record of 11-2.

Michigan might get this contest on the road, but it enters with some serious moment, as it is riding a two-game winning streak and also knocked off the Purdue Boilermakers in its last clash.

Ohio State is riding a momentum train into this contest as well, as it has also won its last two games.

Caris LeVert, finally, is back on the court for the Wolverines, so the rest of the country better take notice. Michigan has stayed on the right side of the bubble without its best player for quite some time. Just for the record, LeVert has only played in 15 games, but he is leading the team in scoring at 16.5 PPG.

If the Buckeyes have any chance of making the tourney, they have to start knocking off opponents like the Wolverines … and really everyone else in their path. Of course, if all else fails, they can hope to win the Big Ten tourney and earn that auto bid.

Nonetheless, the Wolverines will continue to roll — well, in prediction fashion, that is.

PREDICTION: Wolverines 71, Buckeyes 65
