Wisconsin vs. Michigan State College Basketball Preview, TV Schedule, Prediction

TV Schedule: Thursday, Feb. 18, 9:00 p.m. ET, ESPN

Stadium: Breslin Center

The Wisconsin Badgers have had an interesting season, but everything seems to be looking up now. With one more win, they could — dare I say — join the national title conversation.

Although that is rather bold given the fact that Wisconsin was 9-9 overall not too long ago, this team is riding quite the momentum train nowadays. The Badgers have now won seven games in a row and two of those games were played against national title contenders Michigan State and Maryland. The Indiana Hoosiers were also on that win list.

Next up, Wisconsin will play the Spartans once again. If they win that eighth game in a row, which would be the second straight road victory against a top 10 team, surely that would be enough to get the Badgers into the national title contender talks, right? It might seem bold, but those victories don’t lie.

The Spartans are riding a one-game winning streak, are 21-5 overall and sit at 8-5 in the Big Ten standings. Wisconsin is now 16-9 overall and 8-4 in conference play.

Some serious talent will be on the court when these two squads play each other. You know, talents like Denzel Valentine, a Player of the Year candidate, and Nigel Hayes, one of the better players in the country.

The Spartans have the huge advantage of playing at home, and there are probably plenty of people out there who think Michigan State is the best team in college hoops.

Regardless, let’s let the upset games begin.

PREDICTION: Badgers 71, Spartans 67
