Ole Miss vs. Georgia College Basketball Game Preview, Prediction, TV Schedule

TV Schedule: Saturday, Feb. 27, 12:00 p.m. ET, SEC Network

Arena: Stegeman Coliseum, Athens, Ga.

Two of the more disappointing teams in the SEC this season, the Ole Miss Rebels and Georgia Bulldogs will need miracles to make the 2016 NCAA tournament. Making the NIT, however, might be as easy as finishing the season strongly and winning one or two games in the SEC tournament. Ole Miss and Georgia face off on Saturday afternoon on the SEC Network in a matchup that has little to do with the SEC standings, but everything to do with postseason chances.

Ole Miss has somewhat turned their season around after a horrible stretch in mid-January that saw them lose six of seven games. Their impressive 18-10 record in what was supposed to be a down year will look great when on the recruiting trail, but their low-SOS and lack of great wins will likely cost them a postseason berth.

Georgia, on the other hand, has lost three straight. At 14-12, the Bulldogs have likely seen their chances at making any type of postseason tournament slip away, but a strong end to the season – especially with players like Yante Maten and J.J. Frazier returning for next season – could do wonders for their confidence.

The Rebels outlasted the Bulldogs earlier this season by one point at home, so they should come into this game fairly confident that they can hold off UGA. That being said, the Bulldogs have looked much better at home this season than on the road. Georgia should win this one, but do not be surprised if Stefan Moody goes for 30 or more points and leads the Rebels to victory on the road.

Prediction: Georgia 75, Ole Miss 72
