TV Schedule: Saturday, Feb. 27, 6:30 p.m. ET, ESPN

Stadium: John Paul Jones Arena

There will be quite a bit at stake when the North Carolina Tar Heels take on the Virginia Cavaliers this weekend. You know, like seeding for the Big Dance and who wins the ACC title race.

As it stands, North Carolina is leading the ACC pack and has a one-game cushion in the conference standings. Virginia is two games back, but it also still has a shot at earning a No. 1 seed in the 2016 NCAA tournament. So do the Tar Heels.

Since powerhouses flood the ACC, the Tar Heels aren’t out of the woods even if they do escape this game alive, because the Syracuse Orange and Duke Blue Devils will be waiting next. The Cavaliers will close out the regular season against the Clemson Tigers and Louisville Cardinals.

Win, lose or draw, here is one must entering this showdown: Both North Carolina and Virginia are locks for the Big Dance, so fans for both sides can rest assured about that one.

Roy Williams‘ squad will bring a two-game winning streak with it while the Cavs are coming off of a loss.

Once the seeds do finally come out and the field of 68 is set, it will be anyone’s tourney. This season has been a brilliant mess and there really hasn’t been a clear-cut favorite. In terms of this matchup, the Cavaliers might get this contest at home and have one of the stingiest defenses in the country, but North Carolina is one of the most experienced and talented teams out there.

PREDICTION: Tar Heels 67, Cavaliers 63
