Syracuse vs. Florida State College Basketball Preview, TV Schedule, Prediction

By Trevor Lowry

TV Schedule: Saturday, March 5, 2:00 p.m. ET, ESPN2

Stadium: Donald L. Tucker Center

If the season ended today, the Syracuse Orange would likely be part of the field of 68 while the Florida State Seminoles would likely be on the outside looking in when it comes to the 2016 NCAA tournament.

Therefore, this contest is a must-win game for both squads, and it is also the last game of the regular season for both, which means the ACC tourney is very, very close.

In terms of momentum, which is a very powerful thing this time of year, Syracuse enters this clash on a one-game losing streak. Meanwhile, Florida State won its last contest against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Now, the Seminoles just need to knock off the Orange, make a run in the ACC tourney and they will still likely be sweating it out on Selection Sunday.

If the Orange do go down in this contest, and don’t win a game or two in their conference tournament, they very well could find themselves on the wrong side of the bubble.

Did I mention that this was a must-win game for both squads?

With the Big Dance right around the corner, basically every team in the country is hungry to punch a ticket. After all, records literally go out the window during this time, because all a team has to do to make the tournament is win its conference tournament. Crazy things have happened in the past during the month of March, and something tells me that crazy trend is going to continue once again this year.

PREDICTION: Orange 75, Seminoles 76
