In arguably the best city rivalry in the country, Xavier solidified their NCAA resume by traveling across town and beating host Cincinnati.
Xavier and Cincinnati face off on Wednesday night with a potential NCAA tournament berth on the line. Who comes out on top? Find out here.
The Xavier Musketeers travel to face Villanova in a borderline must-win game for their 2015 NCAA Tournament dreams. Will they pull off the upset or will Nova roll?
The North Carolina State Wolfpack and Xavier Musketeers will battle it out as No. 12 seeds in a play-in game. So although they both made the field of 68 for the 2014 NCAA tournament, they still have to win a game to be part of the field of 64.Both teams have had pretty good seasons, but clearly not good enough if they have to take part in a play-in game. With that said, this will be a matchup between two talented teams.
What to Watch For
How about T.J. Warren. Warren was the ACC Player of the Year and he puts up big numbers in the scoring department. Warren is averaging 24.8 points per game and 7.2 assists per game. Other than Doug McDermott, he could be the best player in the country right now. As for Xavier, Semaj Christon is leading the team in scoring at 17.1 points per game. Both players are going to have to come up big for their teams if they plan on advancing to the next round.
Do you have a coin on you? That’s what this game comes down to –a coin flip. However, North Carolina State comes into this contest the hotter team. It has won four of five including victories over Syracuse and Pittsburgh. You could say the Musketeers have been the opposite. They have lost three of four. Expect this game to be close until the very end. Those free throw things tend to make a score look a lot more lopsided than the game actually was.
