Connecticut newspaper links Ken O’Keefe to UConn job
An article in The Greenwich Time lists Iowa offensive coordinator Ken O’Keefe as a potential candidate to replace Randy Edsall as the next head football coach at UConn. Edsall recently took the job at Maryland.
O’Keefe — a Milford, Conn., native — has spent the past 12 seasons calling plays for the Hawkeye offense.
UConn isn’t the first school to take an interest in O’Keefe. He was also rumored to be a candidate for the Indiana job after Bill Lynch was fired at the end of this season.
The 57-year-old offensive coordinator hasn’t held a head coaching position since 1998 when he coached at Fordham. He was also the head coach at Allegheny College from 1990-97.
