After a tumultuous season, five Iowa football players have been invited to post-season all-star games. All five of them are projected to be drafted into the NFL in April.
Defensive tackle Karl Klug and punter Ryan Donahue were invited to play in the 86th annual East-West Shrine Game in Orlando, FL. on January 22. They will be in the company of many fellow Big Ten stars including Wisconsin quaterback, Scott Tolzien and Penn State’s Evan Royster. The game will be shown on the NFL Network.
The other three players, quaterback Ricky Stanzi, defensive end Adrian Clayborn and defensive tackle Christian Ballard have all been invited to the Under Armour Senior Bowl. It will be held in Mobile, AL in Ladd-Peebles Stadium on January 29 at 3 p.m. CST. Out of the players that have been announced so far, these three and Purdue defensive end Ryan Kerrigan were the only players selected from the Big Ten Conference. The game will also be shown on the NFL Network.
These players accomplished great things while at the University of Iowa and should represent the Hawkeye Nation well in the all-star games at the end of January.
