Iowa’s Clayborn to Skip Senior Bowl
Iowa’s All-American defensive end Adrian Clayborn will not participate in the Under Armour Senior Bowl on Jan. 29, according to NFLDraftScout.com’s Rob Rang.
Rang posted the following on his Twitter page Saturday:
Clayborn’s decision not to play could hurt his NFL Draft stock. Missing a game such as this means missing an opportunity to practice against some of the best seniors in college football in front of countless pro scouts.
He already had a lot to prove after a disappointing 2010 campaign, and this certainly doesn’t help.
The Hawkeye defensive lineman recorded 52 tackles, 7 tackles for loss, and 3.5 sacks in 2010, a decline from his 70 tackles, 20 TFL, and 11.5 sacks he amassed during his All-American season in 2009.
Fellow Hawkeyes Ricky Stanzi and Christian Ballard are still expected to play in the Senior Bowl.
