Bret Bielema announced Monday that Wisconsin receiver Nick Toon will miss all of the team’s spring workouts as he recovers from foot surgery.
This isn’t that big of a deal, as Toon will be ready to play by the time summer rolls around. The only real drawback to Toon’s absence might be the development of Jon Budmayr, who is likely to be named starting quarterback in the fall. It would be nice to get the Badgers’ No. 1 receiver and No. 1 quarterback on the same page in the spring, but they’ll have to wait.
