Hoke Names Troy Woolfolk a Defensive Starter
Brady Hoke has named three defensive starters, today we will preview each of them.
After redshirting in 2010 because of a foot injury, Woolfolk has wasted no time reasserting himself back into the Wolverines’ lineup. He and Kovacs make up a very physical defensive backfield. Woolfolk has been in the Michigan program since the fall of 2007. He is one of the longest tenured players at Michigan, and has been a team leader, even after he had to sit out an entire season. Hoke is relying on his most experienced players to play big roles with seniors Martin, Woolfolk and junior Kovacs as the only three starters he’s named. While Woolfolk has only started 12 games, he has played in 32. He has recorded 61 career tackles, and has a good chance at equaling that total in this year alone. With legit 4.5 speed, he will be asked to cover speedy receivers over the top, and certainly could excel.
