Russell Wilson joins Ewing, Butrym and Henry as Wisconsin’s captains
The Badgers announced their 2011 captains Monday, and the team’s newest member was one of the four.
Russell Wilson, who isn’t even officially the starting quarterback yet, was named an offensive captain along with senior fullback Bradie Ewing.
Although the Badger coaching staff has yet to name a starting quarterback for Wisconsin’s opening game against UNLV September 1, almost no one outside the organization believes it will be anyone but Wilson. Consider Wilson being named a captain the first sign that he will officially be named the starter in the very near future.
The Badgers’ defensive captains are senior safety Aaron Henry and senior defensive tackle Patrick Butrym.
