Penn State Senior Chaz Powell Earns Big 10 Special Teams Player of the Week
Penn State cornerback Chaz Powell opened the Nittany Lions’ season with a bang on Saturday.
Powell returned Indiana State’s opening kickoff 95 yards for a touchdown, sparking a 41-7 Penn State victory, and earning co-Big 10 Special Teams Player of the Week honors.
On defense, Powell made one tackle and helped State force three turnovers.
The senior also had Penn State’s last return for a touchdown, as he took the second half kickoff 100 yards to the endzone against Youngstown State last year.
Penn State hosts No. 2 Alabama this Saturday at 3:30 p.m. It will be the Crimson Tide’s first game in Beaver Stadium since 1989.
All fans are encouraged to wear white to the game.
