Muschamp’s Players of the Week
Head coach Will Muschamp has named players of the week every week so far. Here are this week’s winners against Kentucky:
Offensively:

Florida Getting Closer to Top 10 Ranking
The Gators come in this week at 12th in the nation in both the AP Poll and the USA Today/Coaches Poll. Florida’s coming off of their first road game, a 48-10 demolition of the Kentucky Wildcats. Florida’s opponent this week, the Alabama Crimson Tide, come in ranked third in the AP Poll and second in the USA Today/Coaches Poll. Alabama is coming off an impressive win against the then 14th ranked Arkansas Razorbacks. This week’s game will be televised by CBS with an 8pm kickoff.

Howard is SEC Defensive Lineman of the Week
Jaye Howard was named the SEC Defensive Lineman of the Week Monday. Howard recovered a fumble and returned it for Florida’s first defensive touchdown of the season in the Gators’ 48-10 win against Kentucky. Credit LB Jon Bostic with the assist on his touchdown. Bostic jarred the ball loose from Kentucky QB Morgan Newton and the ball landed in Howard’s hands. He totaled three tackles and has a pass breakup against the Wildcats. Howard anchored a defensive front that limited Kentucky to 4-of-17 on third downs and 0-for-5 on fourth downs and forced the Wildcats into three 3-and-outs.

LSU Game Time Set
CBS has announced that the game October eighth against LSU will be broadcast at 3:30pm. The Tigers, ranked first in the AP Poll and second in the USA Today/Coaches Poll, will host the Gators. It will be the second straight week Florida faces a top three opponent on CBS.
