4 Star LB recruit chooses Illinois

Illinois has received their highest ranked 2012 football recruit this past week. His name is Keith Brown and he comes to the Illini out of Miami Norland High School (Miami, FL). He is a 4 star recruit in the Inside Linebacker position. Keith Brown is also ranked #4 in the nation at the linebacker position. He received offers from schools such as Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, North Carolina, Wisconsin, Miami(FL), and Texas Tech. He also had offers and even took visits to Clemson, South Florida, and Big Ten rival Purdue.

Keith Brown is 6’2″ and 230lbs. He’s an overall tremendous athlete. His 40 yard dash time is 4.5 seconds on his best run, and 4.73 seconds on average. Which is fast for the linebacker position. During his testing, he also had a 36.5″ vertical jump and ran the 20 yard shuttle run in 4.19 seconds.

Scouting reports list his as an extremely active player. Keith is also very effective in defending both the run and the pass. Not only does he possess great player speed, he displays great strength. He already has the size to play at the collegiate level. The only bad thing I could find on him was that he needs just a little time to be turned into an “all downs” player.

We welcome Keith Brown and all of the other 2o12 recruits into the Illini family. I also expect to see Keith get some playing time during his freshman campaign.
